Legendary photographer MICHAEL PUTLAND recently had a show, called "Rocks Off", at the Yoshiko Matsumoto Gallery in Amsterdam. It ran from July 22 through August 6.
A promotional card for the show featured a photo on one side, and some details on the back:
"Michael Putland has been the Rolling Stones tour photographer during various tours in the seventies and eighties. We are proud to show a wide variety of his most exciting pictures, for the first time ever in The Netherlands! Each purchaser of a photo can win a free copy of the book "Pleased To Meet You" in a prize draw. (courtesy Genesis/PTMY)"
Here's what it says about the photo on the front: (front image: Michael Putland, "Its Only Rock 'n' Roll" gelatin silver print, 1973. Image size 16"x20"). It says 1973, but wasn't this from 1974, for the "Its Only Rock 'n Roll" video shoot? Anyway, its a great photo. Check out Keith with his little portable cassette recorder (which appears to be recording!), and Charlie's got something stuffed in between his hi-hat cymbals, presumably so he could play along with the pre-recorded backing track while filming without making too much noise.
